Terms and Conditions

By using the website and downloading resources from HOPE Pet Behaviour, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

   1. Website Content and Resource Use
The materials, articles, and downloadable guides (“Resources”) provided on this website are free and designed to help pet owners better understand common behavioural challenges in dogs and cats.

1.1 Educational Use Only
All content is for general educational purposes and is not a substitute for tailored behavioural or veterinary advice. Always consult a qualified clinical animal behaviourist or your veterinary surgeon for individualised support.

1.2 No Guarantee of Accuracy or Applicability
Pet behaviour is highly individual. While we aim to provide accurate, science-based content, the Resources may not apply to your specific situation and may not reflect the most current developments in behavioural science.

1.3 No Client Relationship
Accessing Resources or reading articles does not constitute a professional consultation or form a client-practitioner relationship.

1.4 Limitation of Liability
HOPE Pet Behaviour is not responsible for any outcomes—positive or negative—resulting from the use or misuse of Resources. Use is entirely at your own discretion and risk.

1.5 Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, all content is the intellectual property of HOPE Pet Behaviour. Resources may be downloaded and printed for personal use only. Any reproduction, redistribution, or commercial use without prior written permission is prohibited.

1.6 Updates
These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use implies acceptance of any revised terms.

   2. Use of Services

2.1 Session Duration
Initial consultations may last up to 3 hours; follow-up and training sessions usually last around 1 hour. Actual session length may vary depending on the complexity of the case or if safety or welfare concerns arise for you, your pet, or the behaviourist.

2.2 Location & Travel Fees
Session locations are agreed upon at booking and may include your home, local parks, enclosed fields, or remote/video sessions.

We offer services with no mileage charge within a 15-mile radius of NG5. For locations beyond this range, a mileage fee of £0.45 per mile applies to the additional distance.

If we are unable to access the agreed location within 15 minutes of the scheduled session start (after attempting contact by phone/text), the session will be cancelled without a refund.

   3. Payment, Cancellations & Refunds

3.1 Booking & Payment
Full payment is required at the time of booking. The appointment is only confirmed upon receipt of payment.

3.2 Cancellations
You may cancel within 14 days of purchase, subject to:

  • Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the session: 100% refund

  • Within 48 hours: 50% refund

  • Within 24 hours: No refund

  • After the 14-day statutory cancellation period: No refund

3.3 Rescheduling
Rescheduling more than 24 hours before the session is free of charge. Rescheduling within 24 hours will incur a fee of 10% of the original session cost.

3.4 Provider Cancellations
In cases of illness, extreme weather, or emergency, HOPE Pet Behaviour may reschedule your session. If rescheduling is not possible, a full refund will be offered.

   4. Privacy Policy

We comply with the Data Protection Act 2018. Any personal information collected will be handled lawfully and will not be sold or shared with third parties.

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2014, you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. Please contact: hopepetbehaviour@gmail.com.

   5. Disclaimer

Animal behaviour is complex and outcomes are not guaranteed. Behavioural modification can take time, and complete elimination of a problem behaviour may not be possible.

Clients are responsible for the safety of themselves, their pets, and those around them. HOPE Pet Behaviour is not liable for injury or damage caused by your dog or cat before, during, or after a session.

We are not responsible for misinterpretation of our advice.

We reserve the right to:

  • Decline to demonstrate any training or management technique if it poses a risk

  • Cancel any session immediately if we deem it unsafe to continue
